Engelbert E. Stieger AG
The yarn as DNA
Stieger AG has been developing high-quality home textiles since it was founded in 1962. These are included in collections of textile publishers worldwide and used, among other things, for furnishing first-class hotels and ships.
The design of the fabrics involves the development of new yarns, the use of special weaving and finishing techniques, and the creation of patterns and colour concepts. Sustainability is also a major concern. For example, Stieger weaves recycled yarns and returns used fabrics for upcycling. Thanks to such efforts, large companies from the USA and Switzerland are now also part of the customer base. The reason for the positive developments was also the perseverance, flexibility and reliability of the employees. The headquarters are located in the boiler house of the former Kopp AG finishing plant. With its high chimney, it is a monument to a long industrial era on Lake Constance.
