Century of the Zellwegers
On the tour, visitors learn about the village of Trogen and its stories through audio and text whether they are hiking or on a leisurely stroll.
In Trogen, seven palaces and a church line the edges of the Landsgemeindeplatz square, lending the village national significance. The history of the Zellweger textile family in the 18th and 19th centuries can be explored individually on an interactive themed tour in the wash house and community centre.
An audio tour entitled “Textile Trade and Religion” is also available which highlights Zellweger's long-distance trade and the family’s view of the world. Visitors will find an explanation of the choir painting in the church and can delve into the world of 18th century fashion in the community centre in the textile foyer on the third floor.
