Textilmuseum Sorntal
A former spinning mill building dating from 1850 was renovated in 1994 and now houses the Textilmuseum Sorntal.
The museum is a replica of a textile factory, showcasing the equipment used in textile production during the industrial revolution as well as the final textile products on 900 m² of exhibition space. Visitors (also possible for groups) can experience the origins of textiles first-hand. The machines in the collection are all in working condition.
The items on display provide a glimpse of factory life and give insight into the industrial and social history from the 19th and 20th centuries as well as into working life back then. The museum is located on St.Gallen Boden in the canton of St.Gallen, close to the border with the canton of Thurgau.
