Couture to inspire and touch – the SWISS TEXTILE COLLECTION brings fashion history to life
The SWISS TEXTILE COLLECTION includes over 1,800 immaculate haute couture ensembles from the 1940s to the 1990s – an impressive testament to Swiss textile excellence. The collection features the finest silk fabrics from Abraham, Gessner, and Weisbrod-Zürrer, as well as artistic embroidery from Bischoff Textil AG, Forster Rohner, and other leading manufacturers. Many of these materials found their way onto the catwalks of Paris and were processed in Swiss couture studios – based on designs by Dior, Givenchy, and Yves Saint Laurent. The collection not only showcases fashion history, but also the craftsmanship behind the fabrics.
The association's goal is to make textiles, archive material, and craft materials accessible to everyone—touchable, tangible, prêt-à-toucher.
