Museum Neuthal Textile and Industrial Culture

A place where technology, craftsmanship and history come together in an impressive way.

Industrial history comes alive at the Neuthal Museum. On the site of Adolf Guyer-Zeller's former spinning mill, visitors can follow the path from cotton bale to finished fabric - vividly illustrated by functioning machines from two centuries. An almost completely preserved hydroelectric power plant takes visitors back to the early days of industrial energy production. The spinning, weaving and embroidery areas and changing special exhibitions combine technology, craftsmanship and society.

The special exhibition «mode macht geld» Die globale Modeindustrie, mein Kleiderschrank und ich shows the path of clothing - from production to disposal - and sheds light on how fast fashion and the textile industry have influenced our fashion consumption since the 19th century. It can be seen until 26.10.25. On Sundays, there are short 50-minute guided tours through various departments every hour on the hour. Advance booking is not necessary.
