Municipality Trogen
A village with a textile past and a global outlook – Trogen combines history with the present day
Trogen was once a center of the textile trade – in the 18th century, the Zellweger family ran a global trade in linen and cotton from here. Seven Baroque palaces around the Landsgemeindeplatz square still bear witness to this today. Today, Trogen has around 2,000 inhabitants, is home to the Pestalozzi Children's Village, and offers unique insight into local textile and cultural history with its “Century of the Zellwegers” tour.
